Finley Point State Park – Flathead Lake’s Camping Paradise

Finley Point State Park – Flathead Lake’s Camping Paradise

Distance from Mt. Forge: 30 minute drive

*** Hiking Safely In Grizzly Country

I’ve mentioned before how Finley Point is one of the greatest places to watch the sunset I’ve ever seen. This trip we were able to watch one of those amazing sunsets while sitting around a fire. Afterwards we cooked some sausages from Montana Marbled Meats and relaxed under the stars.

The campground is located centrally on the peninsula and has a boat launch, bathroom facilities, and dozens of campsites. I strongly recommend making reservations in advance as the lakefront sites tend to fill up quickly.

Flathead Lake has several state park units around the coast that you can camp on, but the sunset views combined with the lakefront campsites is hard to top at Finley Point. It was an incredible evening falling asleep to the sound of the water crashing ashore and waking up next to one of the most beautiful lakes in the world.
